Torres Gemelas, Afganistán y derrota humillante del Águila Imperial

La caída de las Torres Gemelas dio lugar a una gran discusión, ya que desde varios sectores se acusó al gobierno yanqui de haberla provocado, mediante una explosión controlada o bien dejando actuar a los “terroristas”. Más allá de las especulaciones, es un hecho que George Bush (hijo) utilizó lo sucedido para imponer el “Acta Patriótica” -que restringió los derechos democráticos- y desplegar tropas imperialistas en Afganistán y otros países.

La Ley Patriótica, cuyo significado es “Ley para unir y fortalecer América proveyendo las herramientas apropiadas, requeridas para impedir y obstaculizar el terrorismo”, fue aprobada por una abrumadora mayoría tanto por la Cámara de Representantes como por el Senado estadounidense, para después ser promulgada por el presidente de los Estados Unidos George W. Bush, el 26 de octubre de 2001.

De esa manera, los dueños del mundo emprendieron una enorme e inédita ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria para aplastar al movimiento de masas, liquidar competidores y consolidar los negocios de los grandes monopolios. La “locomotora” que arrastró al conjunto de la gran burguesía yanqui, fue el denominado “Complejo Militar Industrial”, que agrupa a decenas de empresas ligadas a la industria bélica, como la Boeing y la Loockeed Martin.

Sin embargo esta política, que fue montada con el objetivo estratégico de destruir fuerzas productivas, como en la guerras mundiales, no prosperó. La crisis capitalista, que se profundizó junto con las rebeliones obreras y populares, volvió a estallar en 2005, con la caída de las grandes entidades financieras, que fueron sostenidas por un gigantesco plan de “salvataje”. Los fondos destinados al mismo, dieron lugar a la “burbuja” financiera más grande de la historia, que empujó al planeta a una nueva recesión, entre 2018 y 2019.

No teniendo la misma fuerza y autoridad que en 2001, el imperialismo cambió la política guerrerista por lo que hemos denominado "Contrarrevolución Covid”. Los principales líderes mundiales exageraron la peligrosidad del virus para imponer una nueva versión del Acta Patriótica, limitando derechos y desmovilizando a la clase trabajadora. Sin embargo, esa política está perdiendo fuerza, porque a poco menos de un año de lanzarse, reaparecieron las rebeliones.

No es casualidad que 20 años después de la invasión a Afganistán, haya sido este territorio el lugar en el que los yanquis sufrieron la segunda derrota militar más humillante de su historia, acontecimiento a partir del cual ha comenzado un nuevo período en la lucha de clases. ¡El mundo nunca más volverá a su antigua "normalidad": estamos ingresando a una etapa de guerras y revoluciones nunca vistas, con grandes oportunidades para quienes sostenemos las banderas del Socialismo! 

En este contexto, nuestra tarea es colaborar con la construcción de una nueva conducción política revolucionaria, que se proponga disputar la dirección de la clase trabajadora y los pueblos en lucha en todo el planeta. ¡Existen condiciones más que óptimas para encarar ese desafío! Desde la Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional, con secciones en cuatro continentes, de la cual CS forma parte, está trabajando para eso.

Afghanistan and the humiliating defeat of the Imperial Eagle

The fall of the Twin Towers gave rise to a great discussion, since from various sectors the Yankee government was accused of having provoked it, by means of a controlled explosion or by letting the "terrorists" act. Beyond speculation, it is a fact that George Bush (Jr.) used what happened to impose the "Patriotic Act" -which restricted democratic rights- and deploy imperialist troops in Afghanistan and other countries.  

The Patriot Act, whose meaning is "Act to unite and strengthen America by providing the appropriate tools required to prevent and hinder terrorism", was approved by an overwhelming majority by both the House of Representatives and the US Senate, and was later enacted. by the President of the United States George W. Bush, on October 26, 2001.  

In this way, the owners of the world undertook a huge and unprecedented counterrevolutionary offensive to crush the mass movement, liquidate competitors and consolidate the businesses of the big monopolies. The "locomotive" that dragged the whole of the Yankee big bourgeoisie was the so-called "Military Industrial Complex", which groups together dozens of companies linked to the war industry, such as Boeing and Loockeed Martin.

However, this policy, which was mounted with the strategic objective of destroying productive forces, as in the world wars, did not prosper. The capitalist crisis, which deepened together with the workers' and popular rebellions, flared up again in 2005, with the fall of the large financial institutions, which were sustained by a gigantic "bailout" plan. The funds allocated to it, gave rise to the largest financial "bubble" in history, which pushed the planet into a new recession, between 2018 and 2019.  

Not having the same strength and authority as in 2001, imperialism changed the warlike policy for what we have called "Covid Counterrevolution." The main world leaders exaggerated the dangerousness of the virus to impose a new version of the Patriotic Act, limiting rights and demobilizing the working class. however, this policy is losing steam, because less than a year after it was launched, the rebellions reappeared.  

It is no coincidence that 20 years after the invasion of Afghanistan, this territory was the place where the Yankees suffered the second most humiliating military defeat in their history, an event from which a new period in the class struggle has begun. The world will never return to its old "normality": we are entering a stage of wars and revolutions never seen before, with great opportunities for those of us who hold the banners of Socialism!

In this context, our task is to collaborate with the construction of a new revolutionary political leadership, which intends to dispute the leadership of the working class and the peoples in struggle throughout the planet. There are more than optimal conditions to face this challenge! From the International Revolutionary Communist Tendency, with sections on four continents, of which CS is a part, is working for that.
